Tampa Bay Storm News Release

TAMPA BAY - The Arena Football League announced at the League's annual awards banquet that former Tampa Bay Storm Chief Executive Officer, Tod Leiweke, was awarded the Commissioner's Award for his dedication and commitment to the Arena Football League.

"Tod helped transform the image and culture of the Tampa Bay Storm organization," said Storm President Derrick Brooks. "This award signifies the hard work and dedication he put in to improving the Storm and the Arena Football League."

Leiweke was named the chief executive officer of Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment, which includes the Tampa Bay Storm, Tampa Bay Lightning and AMALIE Arena in 2010. During his five seasons with TBSE, he was responsible for all business operations for the Storm, Lightning and Amalie Arena.

As the team's CEO, Leiweke oversaw a complete rebranding of the Storm with the team donning a new jersey and logo. Leiweke, along with Brooks, helped the Storm become a model Arena Football League franchise, providing the fans and its fellow AFL members a world class organization they can be proud of.

Earlier this offseason Leiweke resigned as the team's CEO to become the Chief Operating Officer of the National Football League.
