Columbus Crew SC News Release
COLUMBUS, Ohio - For the second day in a row, The Crew will be out in the community in search of Gold Wednesday. In conjunction with WNCI 97.9 FM, The Crew will be asking Columbus to "Show Us Your Gold" at City Center mall, in advance of The Crew's big game Wednesday evening (Oct. 9) at Crew Stadium.
The Crew welcomes the New England Revolution to town Wednesday for Game 2 of their MLS Cup Playoffs semifinal series, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Crew fans are encouraged to wear gold - or "Crew Yellow" - to the game, and to get people in the spirit the club has been out looking for people wearing "Crew Yellow."
After panning for gold at The Ohio State University with CD 101 on Tuesday morning, Crew Cat will accompany WNCI's Chris Davis downtown to the City Center mall Wednesday from Noon-2 p.m., in search of people in yellow. As was the case Tuesday, people in the appropriate shade of yellow will be recognized with tickets to Wednesday's game and Crew bobblehead dolls.
The Crew-Revolution series is tied at 1 point apiece following Sunday's 0-0 tie at New England. Teams earn three points for a win and one point for a tie, and the first to five points wins the series. Game 3 will be played this Saturday (Oct. 12) at New England, at 4 p.m.
The winner of the series will advance to meet the winner of the Los Angeles Galaxy-Colorado Rapids semifinal series in MLS Cup 2002 on Oct. 20 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.
