Conference Finals Series Capsules

Americans and Jackalopes Battle in South Finals

The South Finals get started on Friday night at the Ector County Coliseum when the Odessa Jackalopes host the Allen Americans. The teams finished one, two in the Southern Conference during the regular season although they were separated by 12 points (101 for Odessa, 89 for Allen). Odessa won their semifinals series over the Texas Brahmas in six games, while the Americans defeated the Laredo Bucks in seven games.

ALN/ODE Series Notes:

-Odessa won three of the four regular season meetings versus the Americans winning the only game in Allen and going 2-1 versus Allen in Odessa.

-The Jacks outscored the Americans 15-8 in the four meetings during the regular season.

-Odessa's Joel Martin, the CHL's Most Outstanding Goaltender this season, went 2-0 with a 0.50 goals against average versus Allen with a .988 save percentage.

Rush and Mudbugs Face-Off in North Finals

The teams finished one, two in the Southern Conference during the regular season although they were separated by 12 points (101 for Odessa, 89 for Allen). Odessa won their semifinals series over the Texas Brahmas in six games, while the Americans defeated the Laredo Bucks in seven games. The goaltending battle should be outstanding with the veteran Ken Carroll (3-0, 2.17 GAA, .935 save%) going against the rookie Danny Battochio (4-0, 2.23 GAA, .936 save%)

BOS/RPD Series Notes:

-The Mudbugs won the regular season series taking two of the three games (two of the three contests went to overtime/shootout).

-Bossier-Shreveport defenseman Simon Mangos led the 'Bugs with two goals and two assists versus the Rush in the regular season series.

-Rapid City's Les Reaney had points in all four games versus Missouri totaling three goals and six assists. Dating back to the regular season, the MVP finalist has points in 15 of his last 18 games.
