1- After two games in the NYTEX Sports Centre, the South Finals are all tied up at one win apiece. Odessa took Game One thanks to a strong performance from Juha Toivonen who made 25 saves. In Game Two, the Brahmas responded with Brett Jaeger making 42 saves and Scott Sheppard and Justin Kinnunen each scoring twice. Texas scored a pair of power play goals on seven chances in the win. The series shifts now to the Ector County Coliseum for Game's Three and Four this week (Tuesday and Thursday).
TEX/ODE Series Notes:
-Texas has gone 3 for 17 on the power play in the series versus Odessa (17.6%), while Odessa has not scored in 13 chances with the man advantage
-Odessa's Dominic Leveille has five goals and six assists in the post-season tying him with Bossier-Shreveport's Travis Clayton for the most points in the playoffs
-In games he has started, Jacks netminder Juha Toivonen is 5-0 and is carrying a 2.13 GAA and a .913 save percentage
-Texas is 4-0 when scoring the first goal of a game thus far during the playoffs

2- The Colorado Eagles and the Mississippi RiverKings are just two days from getting under way in their best-of-seven Northern Conference Finals with Game One scheduled for Wednesday night in Colorado. The RiverKings won four of five regular season meetings including both games in the Budweiser Events Center. They finished 1, 2 in points in the entire CHL during the regular season. Colorado swept the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in the semifinals and the RiverKings beat Oklahoma City in six games.
COL/MIS Series Notes:
-The Eagles sweep of the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs is the first in franchise history...The only previous series Colorado played in that resulted in a sweep was last year's finals where they fell to Arizona
-Mississippi and Colorado played in the 2007 Northern Conference Finals with the Eagles winning in six games
-Colorado is 9-5 all-time in Game One's of series' and are 8-1 when they win the first game
-Adam Smyth has scored five goals versus the Eagles this season...He finished the season with 10 goals overall
