Series Notes:
-During the regular season, the Cutthroats won just three of the 27 games that their opponent scored the first goal. Allen got on top Thursday night with a first period power play goal but that is all that goalie Kieran Millan would allow stopping 34 of 35 shots in the game.
-In their three+ season history, the Allen Americans have won two of the three series' they lost Game 1 and were only 2-2 in series' where they won Game 1.
-Allen amateur signing, Bryce Aneloski, scored the team's only goal in his first pro game. The d-man was a high scoring player at the University of Nebraska-Omaha where he totaled 28 goals and 114 points during his four-year college career.

Series Notes:
-Matt Robinson scored the OT game winner in Game 1, an act he is becoming familiar with. Last season in Game 6 of the Conference Finals versus the Texas Brahmas, Robinson scored the game winner in OT propelling the Thunder to the CHL Finals. Robinson has 21 GWG's over the last three regular seasons with the Thunder.
-Arizona defenseman Matt McCready scored the game-tying goal with 1:03 left in regulation, his only "Ëofficial' shot on net. The All-Rookie team member also added an assist.
-In last season's run to the CHL Finals, the Thunder went 2-0 in series' they won Game 1.

Series Notes:
-No team won more games in the regular season than the Brahmas when trailing after the first period. Fort Worth went 9-13-0 when behind after 20 minutes of play. On Thursday, they trailed 1-0 after one period but scored two in the second and two in the third for the win.
-The win in Game 1 at the NYTEX Sports Centre gives the Brahmas five wins in their last seven home games with both losses coming in overtime (one to Wichita in 2012 and one to Allen in 2011).
-The Brahmas are 6-0-1 in the regular season when Phil Fox scores two goals or more. He struck twice last night tying the game in the second period and giving his team a 3-1 lead with a power play goal in the third frame.

Series Notes:
-The Rush are 6-1 all-time in Game 1's in their playoff history and swept the Missouri Mavericks in a best-of-7 series back in 2010, their only post-season meeting.
-Rapid City veteran forward Scott Wray has seven post-season game winning goals to go along with 26 total post-season scores. His biggest GWG was the Cup clincher in Game 6 of the 2010 Finals versus Allen.
-The Mavs have a pair of players that used to be members of the Rush, Colt King and Blake Forsyth, and the Rush's Jamie VanderVeeken used to play for Missouri.
This Date in Playoff History (March 29, 2005)
Forward Scott Wray, now the Rapid City Rush's Captain, scored the game winning goal for the Amarillo Gorillas in their 2-1 win over Lubbock in the first round giving his team a three games to one lead over the Cotton Kings (AMA would win the series in Game 5). Amarillo would get swept by Laredo in the conference finals. The Gorillas were coached by Rapid City coach Joe Ferras.
