Three Things You Need to Know

1.) Rush Next to the Party- The Rapid City Rush (36-20-1) joined the Missouri Mavericks (37-16-2) as teams that have clinched playoff spots. Rapid City did so over the weekend thanks to a perfect three wins in three nights topping Tulsa on Friday and Saturday and Wichita on Sunday. Rapid City goaltender Tim Boron shutout the Oilers on Saturday night and went 3-0 on the week allowing just four goals. His efforts earned himself the Oakley Goaltender of the Week honor for the third time this season. Forward Jesse Schultz won the Oakley Player of the Week thanks to three goals and four assists during the week. Rapid City finds themselves three points behind Missouri with a huge showdown looming on Tuesday night between the Rush and Mavs (Missouri has two games in hand on the Rush). After Tuesday's game, the Rush head home for a pair of meetings this weekend with fourth place Allen (32-20-4).

2.) Chill Celebrate Huge Night- What an atmosphere in St. Charles on Saturday night in front of a team record 6,839 fans as the Chill ended a 12-game losing streak (0-11-1) with a convincing 5-2 win over the Allen Americans (32-20-4). Hockey legend Bobby Hull was being honored on Saturday and there was a St. Blues Alumni event as well. The victory for St. Charles was their first since a home ice win over Brampton on January 31. Former Allen forward John Snowden scored the game winning goal and had an assist and Linus Lundin made 25 saves earning the win in net. St. Charles hits the road now for seven straight games beginning with a pair of contests in Arizona this weekend. The Chill will also see Allen twice, Quad City, Tulsa and Missouri on their current trek.

3.) Cutthroats Continue to Roll- The Denver Cutthroats (30-15-10) end their three-game series in Brampton (29-22-6) on Monday night looking to sweep away the Beast. Denver has won the first two meetings thanks to a 5-4 shootout win on Friday and a 5-2 win on Sunday. The Fish are sitting in third place with 70 points, three behind Rapid City and six behind Missouri, and have been one of the top teams in the league since early February posting 10 wins in their last 12 games. After the game in Brampton on Monday, the Cutthroats head to Quad City on Wednesday before returning home for their final three home games of the regular season (end season with six straight road games). Troy Schwab (1-9=10) and A.J. Gale (6-3=9) have been leading the offense for Denver over the last 10 games and goaltender John Griggs remains unbeaten in his first four CHL starts (1.71 GAA). Vincent Arseneau heads into Monday's game on a four-game goal scoring streak.

By the Numbers

699: The number of CHL games coached for Rapid City Head Coach Joe Ferras heading into Tuesday's game in Missouri. Only Doug Sauter (918), Terry Ruskowski (760) and Scott Muscutt (729) have coached more CHL games than Ferras. In his 11th season as a coach in the CHL (sixth with the Rush and previously coached five seasons in Amarillo), Ferras is 375-267-57 all-time with his 375 wins ranking fifth on the league's all-time wins list.

One-Timers

-The Arizona Sundogs (26-26-6) head home after a 2-4-3 road trip that ended with back-to-back losses in Quad City over the weekend. The Sundogs are holding on to the eighth and final playoff spot sitting ahead of ninth place Wichita by six points. Arizona now finishes the regular season with eight straight home games beginning this weekend with a pair versus St. Charles (11-40-6).

-Denver's Troy Schwab has a goal and nine assists in his last 10 games and sits second in the CHL with 84 points (21-63=84). He is now just three points behind teammate Garett Bembridge (37-50=87) for the league's scoring lead.

-Rapid City forward Konrad Reeder will miss the remainder of the regular season after being placed on the 30-day injured reserve. Reeder sits seventh in the CHL with 70 points (34-36=70).

-Although shutout 5-0 on Saturday versus Rapid City, the Tulsa Oilers (29-25-3) successfully killed all 11 Rush power plays in the game and faced a season-high 61 penalty minutes in the game (49 in the third period).

-All three goals scored Sunday by Wichita (a 4-3 SOL against Rapid City) came from the blue-line with Mike Wilson, Andrew Martens and Jarkko Leppanen (his first with the team) scoring for the Thunder. Wichita has three of the top six scoring defensemen in the CHL with Martens tied for the league lead (43 pts), Jesse Dudas ranked fourth (38 pts) and Wilson sitting sixth (36 pts).

-The Quad City Mallards (28-18-8) are a +20 in the third period this season ranking second in the league behind just Rapid City (+21). The Flock have outscored the opposition 67-47 in the final frame and are a +4 in the first period (49-45) and even in the second period (61-61).

-CHL-TV, powered by America ONE Sports, is back for a second season with monthly and season packages available as well as all games on a given night available for $8.00. Visit www.americaonesports.com for ordering information.
