SALISBURY, MD: The Delmarva Shorebirds (36-65, 13-22) were defeated 7-0 by the Hickory Crawdads (59-39, 25-9) on Saturday.

After a scoreless first inning, the Crawdads took the lead in the second on a solo home run by Pablo Guerrero (3), his second homer of the series, to make it 1-0.

In the fourth, Marco Argudin (2) homered over the left-field wall. His solo shot made it 2-0.

The Crawdads extended their lead to 3-0 in the seventh on an RBI double by Curley Martha.

In his Single-A debut, Jake Dykhoff delivered a quality start for the Shorebirds, throwing 6.1 innings and recording five strikeouts.

The Crawdads broke the game open in the eighth by scoring three runs, then added one more in the ninth to go in front 7-0.

The story of the night was Hickory pitching, as Jacob Johnson, Moises Morales, and Michael Trausch combined to give up only three base runners, with two hits and one walk, in a 7-0 shutout win for the Crawdads.

Moises Morales (7-2) earned the win in relief, while Jake Dykhoff (0-1) took the loss for Delmarva.

The Shorebirds wrap up their series with the Crawdads on Sunday, as Brayan Orrantia takes the mound against Jesus Lafalaise. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 PM.
