
Shock to Partner With Oklahoma Blood Institute

Tulsa, OK - The Tulsa Shock has partnered with the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) to host a blood drive on Saturday, June 15. The blood drive will be from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at two locations, Osage Event Center, 951 W. 36th Street North, and Promenade Mall in the National Guard Wing. KRMG will be broadcasting live at the Osage Event Center from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Each donor will receive:
- Two Tulsa Shock tickets for the July 19 game against the Connecticut Sun.*
- $10 Osage Casino Free Play voucher*
- An OBI T-shirt*
- Two free admissions to the Tulsa Zoo*
- Every donor will be entered to win a thrilling Osage Casino grand prize
* Incentive available while supplies last.
"We are honored to partner with OBI and Osage Casino in hosting the summer blood drive and to help those in need with blood supplies for our community," said Steve Swetoha, Tulsa Shock President, "This is another great opportunity for our organization to help."
Anyone who is healthy and 16 years of age* can usually give blood, and donations can be made every 56 days. Health screenings and Donor Rewards points, redeemable in OBI's online store, are also provided to donors.
Through a special initiative to support the Global Blood Fund (GBF), any donor can forgo the OBI T-shirt offered in appreciation for giving. In turn, funds so designated will then be contributed to GBF for supplies and equipment for blood centers in the world's poorest countries.

* 16 year olds must weigh at least 125 pounds and provide signed parental permission, 17 year olds must weigh at least 125 pounds, 18+ year olds must weigh at least 110 pounds. * 18 year olds and up can give blood at Osage Event Center.
