Tulsa, Okla. - The Tulsa Shock have signed Brittany Spears (Colorado), Italee Lucas (North Carolina) and Vicki Baugh (Tennessee) to training camp contracts. Spears played at Colorado where she was the all-time leading scorer with 2,185 points, starting all 127 games of her career and averaged 19.2 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game in her senior season. Lucas finished her career at North Carolina averaging 15.8 points per game and earned ACC All-Tournament First Team honors. Baugh averaged 7.5 points per game in 24 games her senior season after being sidelined with left knee injuries. Lucas (2011) and Baugh (2012) were both drafted by Tulsa but did not make the team.
"We are very aware of all three of these players skills with Vicki and Italee being on our roster previously and Coach McConnell-Miller having coached Brittany at Colorado," Shock President Steve Swetoha said. "We look forward to seeing them in camp and competing for a spot."
The Shock's home opener will be at 2 p.m. on Monday May 27 against the Washington Mystics at the BOK Center. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN2.
