Maryland NightHawks News Release
Upper Marlboro, MD â The NightHawks announce that former Bowie State Star, Jamal Shivers, plans to stay in the states this year and in his backyard. Jamal returns to his native state after his electrifying performances while playing for Ansbactl in Germany.
"I am most impressed with Jamal's defensive skills and his durability. The added bonus is his ability to score at will and knock down the open shot," commented Coach Sanders, NightHawks' Head Coach.
Jamal is a fierce defender, like Antar Parkman (also recently signed with the NightHawks), a dominating shooter and a leader. He led Friendly High School to their first state championship as the 3rd All-Time Scorer; led Bowie State to go undefeated at home as the "Best Defender" (10-0, the only senior in Bowie State history to do so) and led Ansbactl Germany team to a successful season averaging 34.4 points a game.
The NightHawks are in the process of building a Championship-Contending team. The contracted players will all fight each other for starting positions due to the high level of talent each one brings. The team will hold one final free agent tryout at Run N' Shoot on October 31 at 9AM, to fill the remaining open spots.
The Maryland NightHawks is the new professional Men's Professional Basketball Team in the area. The NightHawks join the legendary American Basketball Association (ABA) as one of the most promising up and coming expansion teams.
