Shaun David, Renato and Ten Others Commit to Outlaws
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - Former Dallas Sidekicks Shaun David, Renato Pereira, Jamie Harrigan and Chuck Salas will be playing with the Texas Outlaws for the 2009-2010 season.
So far, nine players are returning from last season: Goalie Adam Jochelson, Forward Kellan Zindel, Forward/Midfielder Keegan Hudson, Midfielder Anthony Jama, Midfielder John Martinez, and Defender and Team Captain John Andrews. Jose Castro, who played six games in the 2008-2009 season, has also signed on for the upcoming season.
"This season will be exciting. Last year we finished the season with a young, fairly inexperienced, but very talented group of players. With the additions this season, we will have a more rounded team with some explosive veterans and young players that we hope to develop for future seasons," commented General Manager Marco Juarez. "With the beginning of the season still three weeks away, we may have a couple of other surprise commitments. We worked very hard in the off-season to build the credibility of the team and organization and it is paying off."
Jama and John Waters will both be placed on the injured player list. Jama suffered a hernia that may keep him out of play until January. Waters, who hopes to return to action in December, awaits doctor's clearance to resume training.
