Shaun David Heads to La Raza

North Richland Hills, Tx/Monterrey, NL Mexico - The Texas Outlaws and Monterrey La Raza announced that Forward Shaun David has accepted new contract terms and will transfer to Monterrey La Raza. This move is effective immediately and Shaun will join Monterrey on Saturday. "This is a great opportunity for Shaun," commented General Manager Marco Juarez. "Monterrey has a great team with a rich indoor soccer history. We enjoy a great relationship with the club. Earlier in the season we planned on having Ricardinho - who plays with Philadelphia - join us for a game or two, but we could not finalize the details. Hopefully we can continue our great relationship with Monterrey and open opportunities for cross-over play between our teams."
In seven games Shaun has led the Outlaws in both goals and assists with 11 goals and 10 assists. Before last weekend, he stood second in the league in total points. With his speed and power, he opened the game for the Outlaws and also gave his teammates numerous opportunities to score.
Monterrey's General Manager Jose Barragan commented, "Shaun came highly recommended. With half of our season still remaining, we are in contention for the championship and needed to add a player of Shaun's caliber."
The Texas Outlaws are on the road this weekend. Texas plays the San Diego Sockers on Saturday and the California Cougars on Sunday. Monterrey is at home to face the Baltimore Blast. With Shaun David out of the lineup, former Dallas Sidekick Chuck Salas has been recalled off the injured reserve list early to make the trip.
Texas Outlaws Fans don't forget that we will be hosting the Special Olympics on February 21 and CASA of Tarrant County on February 27. Half of our ticket revenue will be given to those organizations for their respective game nights. Buy tickets and donate them to a Special Olympic or a foster child that wouldn't otherwise get to come out to a game.
