
Cougars Fortify Roster with Additions of Vedder and Robledo

Stockton, CA - The California Cougars, of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro), have agreed to contract terms with both defender David Vedder and midfielder Uriel Robledo, it was announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deals will not be disclosed.
Vedder appeared in 12 PASL-Pro matches and 17 total for the Cougars last season. The first year defender, scored six league goals (and nine overall), tallied 27 blocks and logged only two penalty minutes last season.
Vedder, 25, played at St. Mary's College of California between 2002 and 2006. He started in 18 of 20 games for St. Mary's during his junior season in 2004, but was sidelined due to injury in both 2005 and 2006. He served as a volunteer assistant coach for St. Mary's College in 2006 because of injury. He was a 2002 graduate of Bellarmine College Preparatory high school in San Jose.
Robledo, 26, burst onto the scene during his first professional match. He scored two goals on three shots on December 20, 2008 at Stockton Arena. He netted 13 goals over 13 overall games and 10 goals in 10 league games last season.
The Cougars signed Robledo last December. The Los Angeles born midfielder attended West High School in Tracy, CA and graduated in 2002. He played two seasons at Modesto Junior College as a midfielder. Robledo spent time with the PDL's California Gold in 2006.
