November 10, 2007 - Hawaii Winter Baseball 2 (HWB 2)
Honolulu Sharks News Release
The Honolulu Sharks rallied from a 2-0 deficit at the hands of the Waikiki BeachBoys to even the score at 2-2, and salvage the tie. The game was declared complete after nine innings in accordance with an HWB rule implemented to save the arms of the pitchers.
Waikiki (15-15-1) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Cole Garner doubled home Jeff Kindel from second, and later scored on a passed ball.
Fuminori Yokogawa collected two hits for Honolulu (14-15-2), while Kyler Burke tripled in the Sharks' first run of the evening in the seventh inning. Argenis Diaz laced a single down the third base line to plate Yokogawa in the eighth frame to tie the game at 2-2.
Jared Lansford did not factor in the decision despite opening the game with three scoreless innings through which he surrendered three hits and struck out three.
Both squads return to Hans L'Orange Park tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. (Hawaii time) for the finale of the three-game set.
