Sharks Rally in the Fourth to Win

February 12, 2011 - Premier Basketball League (PBL)
Rochester RazorSharks News Release

Rochester (3-6) came from 14 points behind in the third quarter to score a 103-99 win over Kentucky (4-7). The RazorSharks won the fourth quarter by a 31-18 margin to snap a four game Premier Basketball League losing streak before 5.676 fans.

Sammy Monroe returned to the Sharks lineup last week. He scored a game high 22 in his first game in Rochester in two years. He played two seasons and won championships with the Sharks in 2008 and 2009.

Monroe's efforts were complimented by Jerice Crouch and Mike Williams who scored 14 each. Eric Walton scored 13 and added a game high 10 rebounds.

Justin Taylor scored 20 points and Kenny Jones added 18 for Kentucky.

The visiting Bluegrass Stallions established the early pace hitting five first quarter three pointers. For the game they were 10 for 22, outscoring Rochester by 15 points long range.

But turnovers were the story and for once, it wasn't the RazorSharks undoing. Kentucky turned it over 34 times leading to 26 Rochester points.

This was the first of seven straight home games for the RazorSharks who try to fight their way back into the PBL playoff picture. Rochester hosts Halifax next Saturday.
