Rochester RazorSharks News Release
Boys and Girls Club Clinic
As part of their continuous support of the Rochester Boys and Girls Club, the Rochester RazorSharks will host a basketball clinic for the kids this month at the Blue Cross Arena.
Head Coach Rod Baker and his team will instruct some 75 children from the Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday, February 22. The clinic will be held from 9:00-11:30am. The RazorSharks have a longstanding relationship with the Boys and Girls Club.
Gilda's Walk for Wellness
On Sunday February 13th the RazorSharks will participate in 'Gilda's Walk for Wellness.' Named in honor of comedienne Gilda Radner of the original 'Saturday Night Live' crew, 'Gilda's Walk' is a 'Helping Kids With Cancer' event. Radner died of ovarian cancer in 1989.
The mile and a half walk takes place Sunday morning, 10:00am at the Mall at Greece Ridge. 'Gilda's Walk' organizers expect 650 participants, including representation from the basketball team, which will provide walkers with ticket vouchers for the RazorSharks' February 19th game against Halifax at the Blue Cross Arena.
Don't Foul Out
Meanwhile Rochester RazorShark players Jerice Crouch, Melvin Council and Coach Rod Baker were guests at Wilson and East High Schools recently.
They spoke on behalf of the 'Don't Foul Out' program, sponsored jointly with Bryant and Stratton College, stressing the need for continuing education. 'Don't Foul Out' is a program jointly sponsored by the Rochester RazorSharks basketball team and Bryant and Stratton College.
