Sharks Announce New Tryout

New York Sharks News Release


Want to play for New York's professional football team the New York Sharks? We are holding the last tryout for players to join the team for the Spring 2004 season.

The open tryout is welcome to all women, 18 years of age and older. There is a $75 registration fee, which includes a New York Sharks t-shirt. Tryout will be held, rain or shine!

February 21st 150th Street Park, Jamaica, Queens 9:00am - 12:00pm

The only required equipment are cleats. We do recommend protective eyewear, knee pads, and braces. If you have any questions, call general manager Crystal Turpin at: (718) 422-0633.

For directions to Baisley Park:

By subway: Take the E or J Train to Sutphin Blvd./Archer Ave. Transfer to Q6 bus and get off on Rockaway Blvd. and Sutphin Blvd. intersection. Walk to the corner of 150th street and Rockaway Blvd.

By train: Take the Long Island Railroad to Jamaica Station. Transfer to Q6 bus and get off on Rockaway Blvd and Sutphin Blvd intersection.

For directions from Long Island: Take Belt Pkwy West to the Rockaway Blvd exit. Get in right lane and make a right at the light (Rockaway Blvd). Go approximately three lights and park is on the right.

For directions from Brooklyn:

By car: Take Belt Pkwy East to the 150th St./Rockaway Blvd exit. Make a left at the light(from the off-ramp) onto 150th St. Continue to Rockaway Blvd./Sutphin Blvd. intersection. Park is in front of you.

For directions from Manhattan:

By car: Take LIE East to the Grand Central Pkwy (GCP) Eastern Long Island. Follow Grand Central Parkway to the Van Wyck Expwy (Kennedy Airport). Take Van Wyck Expwy to Rockaway Blvd exit. Make a left at the light (Rockaway Blvd). Take Rockaway Blvd approximately one mile. Park is on the left-hand side. OR Take the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to the Grand Central Parkway and follow same directions as above.
