NYC & Company has added the New York Sharks to the 2003 Official NYC Tourism Guide as a listing under "Spectator Sports".
Browse the new guide for information on Spectator Sports and you'll find information on teams such the New York Jets, Knicks, Giants, Rangers, Mets, Yankees and Liberty. And now the good news is that you'll also encounter the New York Sharks as "New York's entry in the Independent Women's Football League, a women's professional league".
Having taken the 2002 National Championship, it is no wonder that NYC's public relations firm has recognized this winning team. Although the listing cites the Queens located August Martin High School as its playing field, the NY Sharks is sharing the season venue with Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island for the second and third home games.
