Rochester RazorSharks News Release
They certainly make things interesting. As the Rochester RazorSharks approach the halfway mark in their Premier Basketball League season, they haven't made things easy on themselves. Or their coach.
Their three home games especially have been roller coaster rides. Against Dayton on opening night, Rochester got 13 points behind, had a 16-0 fourth quarter run to charge to a ten point lead before losing in overtime. Against Quebec, the Sharks were 17 down in the first half but came back to win. Saturday Rochester was down 14 to Kentucky in the third quarter and rallied in the fourth to win.
"We don't quit," said Coach Rod Baker, putting a positive spin on the situation. "Obviously we have enough experience being down so that we know how to fight ourselves back into it."
On Saturday the coach coined a term that might best fit the team.
"We have situational toughness," he said. "I thought the beginning of the third quarter (against Kentucky) we gave in and you can't do that. But then we decided not to do that any more."
"It's definitely problematic," says guard Keith Friel. "We're putting ourselves behind the eight ball too much and having to expend too much energy to get back into the game. It's an enigma."
