Rochester RazorSharks News Release
It was a day of rest Monday for the Rochester RazorSharks. They got two days off after wrapping up their regular Premier Basketball League season Saturday with a 30 point win over Kentucky. The team opens up a best of three semifinal playoff series with the Quebec Kebs here on Saturday. There's a 2:05pm tip off.
Tickets for all RazorShark playoff games are available from the Blue Cross Arena box office. There is no increase in price for the postseason. They cost between five and 25 dollars.
The Sharks split their two games with Quebec this season but they were played a long time ago. Rochester beat the Kebs here 107-101 in game two of the season. The Kebs took game four 114-102 in Quebec. Lou McCroskey was the star for the Kebs in both scoring 21 and 22 points. Those were his two highest scoring games of the year. Over his last seven the former Syracuse University star has averaged just over six ppg.
Both those contests were part of Rochester 2-6 start. The Sharks have gone 10-2 since to finish 12-8 and third in the PBL. Most significantly they added forwards Sammy Monroe and Mike Williams to the mix. Both have performed spectacularly at times.
For Quebec, forward Quinnell Brown all but wrapped up the PBL scoring race with a 41 point effort in his last game of the season against Dayton. That is the single game high in the league this season. Brown averages a league leading 21.2 points per game and is an MVP candidate. He scored 35 in two games against Rochester.
After Saturday's first game the series switches to Quebec City for games two and three (if necessary). No dates have yet been assigned for those.

13 year old Aviella Winder of Fairport will perform National Anthem duties on Saturday at the Blue Cross Arena. Winder is considered by Sharks coach Rod Baker a bit of a good luck charm.

Halifax (9-9) moved closer to nailing down the fourth and final PBL playoff spot when Saint John (8-10) lost at Lawton 96-87 Sunday. The Rainmen and Mill Rats play each other twice to complete the regular season on Tuesday and Thursday. Saint John needs to win both to qualify ahead of Halifax. One or the other plays defending league champion Lawton-Fort Sill in a semifinal best-of-three series.
Halifax and Saint John are a combined 0-4 vs LFS this year, losing by an average of 17 and a half points.
