Rochester RazorSharks News Release
The Matchup: Rochester tries for a split of its two game Premier Basketball League road trip in Canada with a game at Quebec. The teams played a week ago Saturday in Rochester with the RazorSharks scoring a come from behind victory.
The RazorSharks (2-3) lost Friday night at Saint John, snapping a two game winning streak. This is Rochester's fourth road game in its first six. Their next three are also on the road.
In their previous meeting, Rochester spotted Quebec a 17 point 1st quarter lead. The RazorSharks came back to win off a 14-0 second half run. Jerice Crouch scored 18 points. He's the team leader averaging 20 ppg. That's second in the league. 7 foot center Jared Carter added a season high 16.
Cater and teammate Perry Stevenson, both out of the University of Kentucky, are tied for the PBL lead in blocked shots with eight each.
Rochester would like to play better early. They've been outscored in the first half in four of their five games. Conversely, they have outscored their opponents in four of five second halves.
This is a matchup of the two most turnover prone teams in the PBL. They combine for an average of 44 per game.
The Kebs (3-2) hosted Dayton Saturday night. Quebec played back to back nights after being idle since last Saturday when it lost at Rochester.
Former Syracuse player Louie McCroskey scored a season high 22 points in that loss to the RazorSharks.
Quinnell Brown also got 22. Brown is third in the PBL with a 19.6 ppg. He is second in steals and sixth in rebounding. He leads the Kebs in four of the five top statistical catagories. Quebec leads the PBL in rebounds as a team.
Of note: McCroskey scored 22 against Rochester. He has averaged just 10 ppg in his other four games.
Of note: Quebec is playing back to back nights. This is just the third time this season so far that a PBL team plays back to back. Vermont beat Saint John. Dayton lost to Kentucky. Both the Frost Heaves and Air Strikers were at home.
Of note: Rochester does not play back to back nights all season.
Of note: This is the last time these teams play in the PBL regular season.
