SF Bulls National Anthem Winners Announced

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced the winners of the National Anthem Tryouts at PIER 39 on Saturday afternoon. Selected to perform the National Anthem at a 2013-14 SF Bulls were Nayah Damasen, Chelsea and Nikko Collins, Kelly Drinkward, Julia Padilla, Mika Gorospe and Angela Tirado. Determining the winners were a panel of guest judges: ABC7 News Anchor Dan Ashley, KRON 4 News Anchor Darya Folsom, KOFY Dance Party and KSFO Morning Show host Katie Green, SFGate.com writer Beth Spotswood and from CBS Sports and TheSportsVirus.com Joe Castellano .
The 35 contestants performed 30 seconds of the National Anthem, and a verse and chorus of a song of their choice. After a tough decision by the judges, the six winners were announced in front of the packed crowd at the Crystal Geyser ALPINE SPRING WATER Stage. Players Sports Grill & Arcade hosted the Bulls and judges.
Ashley, an Emmy Award winner, has been with ABC7 since 1995. He works now as anchor of ABC7 News at 6 & 11 p.m. and ABC7 News at 9 p.m. on Your TV20, weekdays.
Folsom is an award-winning news anchor on KRON 4.
Green is a host on the KSFO Morning Show. She can also be seen on KOFY TV20's "Dance Party, where she is known as DJ Katie.
Spotswood writes for the "Culture Blog" of SFGate.com. Her work can also be seen in San Francisco Appeal and VidSF.
Castellano has been broadcasting sports for over 25 years. His credits include Olympic broadcasts for NBC Sports and the College World Series for Westwood One. He can currently be seen on CBS Sports and at TheSportsVirus.com.
