
Seven Goal Night From Chiles Leads Sockers to 16-10 Win

DEL MAR---Kraig Chiles tied a PASL league mark with seven goals, including five in the second quarter, as the San Diego Sockers raced out to leads of 10-1 and 15-5 before settling for a 16-10 victory at the Del Mar Arena in front of a crowd of 1,864. The Sockers (3-0) exploded for seven goals in the second quarter including four straight by Chiles, who added an assist for an eight point game. Sockers captain Aaron Susi added two goals and three assists, moving him within 13 points of 500 for his career in indoor soccer.
The Sockers took a 3-1 lead after one quarter on goals by Eric Wunderle, Susi and Majell Aterado (two goals, assist). Leading 10-1 at the half, San Diego extended their advantage behind midfielder Brian Farber, who put home two goals and has seven for the season. Former Revolucion Tijuana midfielder Eduardo Velez added his second goal of the season as San Diego coasted out to a ten goal advantage before relaxing defensively in the fourth quarter.
Guillermo Rodriguez had a hat trick and assist for Revolucion (1-2), which will host the Sockers in a rematch at Estadio Furati in Tijuana on December 9th.
