
Seven Former Mohawks Picked in MLB Draft

Seven former Amsterdam Mohawks were selected in the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft held June 5-7. These seven players will join many other former Mohawks and raise the total to over 30 former Amsterdam players currently playing professional baseball.
The following are the players drafted this year, along with the year that they played for the Mohawks:
10th Round- Matt Gage, 2012, LHP, Siena College by the SF Giants
13th Round- Chandler Shepherd, 2012, RHP, University of Kentucky by the Boston Red Sox
21st Round- Jack Fischer, 2011, RHP, Wake Forest by the Detroit Tigers
27st Round- Connor Kaden, 2012, RHP, Wake Forest by the SF Giants
27st Round- Rocky McCord, 2012, RHP, Auburn by the KC Royals
30rd Round- Taylor Stark, 2011, RHP, Delta State (Mississippi State while playing for Mohawks) by the Milwaukee Brewers
34rd Round- John Nogowski, 2013, 1B, Florida State by the Oakland A's
