
Settlemier to Return for Third Season

ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder has signed pitcher/designated player Serena Settlemier, team General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Settlemier was the arguably the team's best pitcher in 2008 en route to being named an Honorable Mention selection to the All-NPF team. She recorded a 10-8 record and a 1.46 ERA in 125 innings pitched. She had a streak during the season where she went 35 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run.
For her two-year career with the Thunder, Settlemier has compiled a record of 14-16 with 161 strikeouts. She has also blasted seven homeruns with 29 RBIs in her short career.
Settlemier, 25, is entering her third season with the Thunder. Originally from Kelso, Wash., Settlemier went on to become one of the greatest players in Kansas University history. She was an All-American in 2006, as well as the Big 12 Player of the Year, after she broke several school records, including home runs and RBIs.
