Portland Winterhawks News Release
Portland Winterhawks forward Seth Jarvis has inked a three-year, entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.
"Seth is an extremely talented player with elite puck skills and scoring ability," Hurricanes President and General Manager Don Waddell said in a statement. "He has a very bright future, and we are excited to watch him continue his development into an NHL player."
Jarvis was selected by Carolina with the 13th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft following a breakout campaign where he registered 98 points (42G-56A) in 58 games during the 2019-20 Western Hockey League season. After finishing second in the WHL in points and third in goals, Jarvis was recognized as a Western Conference First-Team All-Star.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba product was also the recipient of the 2019-20 Brad Hornung Trophy, awarded annually to the WHL's Most Sportsmanlike Player.
Jarvis, ranked 11th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting, played a pivotal role in helping the Winterhawks capture their fourth regular season championship since relocating to Portland. Through 130 career WHL games, Jarvis has scored 58 goals and 81 assists for 139 points.
