Lincoln collected 15 hits and walked 12 times en route to an easy 14-7 triumph over Pensacola. The win in game three gives the Saltdogs a 2-1 series lead, and Lincoln can earn the American Association title with a win in game four on Saturday. Lincoln held a commanding 8-1 lead entering the bottom of the seventh inning, but Pensacola scored a pair of runs in that frame to close the gap to 8-3. An inning later, Pensacola added two more runs and suddenly the game stood even closer, at 8-5. But Lincoln put aside any notions of a Pelicans comeback when they posted six runs in the top half of the ninth inning to take a 14-5 lead. The Pelicans would manage a pair of runs in the ninth, but it wasn't enough. Lincoln starter Justin Knoff was credited with the win, his first of the postseason. He allowed three runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings. Saltdogs 3B Brandon Jones led all hitters at the plate, going 4-for-6 with a run scored and two RBI. Lincoln RF Rafael Alvarez was 2-for-3 with a home run, a run scored and three RBI.
