August 16, 2003 - Central Baseball League (Central League) - Jackson Senators News Release

Jackson, MS; August 16, 2003 – The Senators completed a three game sweep of the Shreveport Sports Saturday night winning 5-2. Mark Persails started his first game since July 20th, going four innings, allowing one run on four hits. David Fuqua (3-3) came in and went 4.2 innings giving up just one run on three hits in earning the win. Kirt Kishita faced one hitter in then ninth to pick up his first save of the season. Keto Anderson went 2-4 at the plate with two RBI and scoring one run. Anderson capped off a five run fifth inning by blasting his 4th home run of the year. Ian Doiron (3-9) suffered the loss going six innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, while also striking out five men on the night. The Senators improved to 25-17 on the half and 56-34 on the season. The Sports dropped to 17-24 during second half play and 46-43 on the year.

Next home game: Will take place on Monday, August 18, 2003, as it will be “Mix 98 baseball Bingo,” with fans having a chance to great prizes courtesy of Mix 98. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
