Senators Jump on Top Early, Win 7-1

Jackson, MS; August 19, 2003 – The Jackson Senators bounced back Tuesday night beating the Springfield/Ozark Mt. Ducks 7-1. Ryan Creek (10-4) went seven innings, gave one un-earned run on four hits, while striking out eight men in picking up the win. Corey Hennessy (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing six runs, three of which were earned on three hits, in four innings of work. Trey Salinas was hot offensively, going 3-3 with one RBI and scoring a run. The Senators jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, when Hennessy walked five, his defense committed two errors and the Senators rapped out one hit. The win helped the Senators improve to 57-35 on the season and 26-18 on the half. The Ducks fell to 39-53 on the year and 16-28 during second half play.

Next home game: Will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2003, as it will be "Wet Your Whistle Wednesday," with $.50 drink specials on both draft soft drinks and draft beer. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
