Select-A-Seat Day II Saturday

WHAT: Fullerton Flyers' seat owners will select their seats for the 2005 season at the Select-A-Seat Day II. The Flyers' new mascot will be revealed at noon.

WHO: Team Manager and former major leaguer Garry Templeton, players, sponsors, and Flyers front office team.

WHEN: Saturday, May 7th 2005, from 10AM-3PM

WHERE: Goodwin Field at Cal State Fullerton

BACKGROUD: The Fullerton Flyers are one of the charter teams the comprise the Golden Baseball League, Presented by VONS, a professional baseball league operating under a single-entity ownership model, with the League owning all the individual teams. Charter Golden Baseball League cities include Chico; CA, Fullerton; CA, Long Beach; CA, San Diego; CA, Mesa; AZ, Surprise; AZ and Yuma; AZ. The season will consist of 90 games per team and will begin May 27th in Chico and end in early September. Each team will have a 24-player roster.

Players were recruited from throughout the United States, including former major leaguers working their way back up through the minors, some of college baseball's finest players who missed being drafted, and recent cuts from major league baseball organizations spring training roster trimming. The Golden Baseball League plans on pursuing additional international player exchange agreements with other foreign leagues looking to develop their talent or acquire players.
