
SEHL Playoffs Begin This Week

The South East Hockey League playoffs get underway this week with the Knoxville Ice Bears facing the Cape Fear Fire Antz in the best of three SEHL semi-finals. The 112 game SEHL regular season was completed on Saturday night (20th). The Huntsville Channel Cats won the 2003-04 SEHL regular season championship and will play the Knoxville / Cape Fear winner in the SEHL Championship Series which begins April 1st and 2nd in Huntsville at the Von Braun Center.

SEHL Player of the Week
Matt Kohansky of the Cape Fear Fire Antz is the South East Hockey League Player of the Week. The Norfolk, Massachusetts native, who played his college hockey at Brown University, helped lead the Fire Antz to two victories last week with a six point weekend (2 goals-4 assists).
SEHL Goaltender of the Week
Matt Carmichael of the Huntsville Channel Cats is the South East Hockey League Goaltender of the Week. Carmichael, from Bristol, Quebec, added another victory to his league leading total (32 wins), defeating Knoxville on March 19th. Carmichael led all SEHL netminders with his 2.74 goals against average, 3 shutouts, and 92.2% save percentage.
Other SEHL Top Performers
Cape Fear newcomer Chris Duggan scored a hat trick on 3/20 against Winston-Salem and had a five point week (3 goals-2 assists).
Huntsville's Dan Buccella (2 goals-4 assists) and Jessi Otis (1 goal-4 assists) combined for eleven points in two games.
Winston-Salem's Chris Seifert had a five point week (4 goals-1 assist). Seifert finished the year with 26 goals.
Knoxville's K.J. Voorhees (4 goals) and Craig Desjarlais (1 goal-4 assists) combined for nine points in two games. Voorhees finished the regular season with 53 goals.
James Patterson of the Huntsville Channel Cats led the SEHL in scoring with 119 points (45 goals & 74 assists). His 74 assists also led the SEHL in that category. The Channel Cats Allan Carr led the SEHL in goals with 56.
