Seeker, Tobin Win Final Awards of '23 Regular Season

SOUTH HADLEY, MA - Scott Seeker (Martha's Vineyard, 1B/OF, Mount St. Mary's) and Will Tobin (North Adams, LHP, University of Pennsylvania) have won the Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the final week of the 2023 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) regular season.

Seeker had a monster week for the Sharks, playing in seven games, in which he went 15-28 (.536) with three home runs, ten RBI, eight runs scored, and two walks. He had a hit in every game this week, with five of them being multi-hit games.

A 3-5 performance against Newport on July 25 kickstarted his week, helping propel the Sharks to a 13-4 win with a home run and two RBI. In game two of the doubleheader, Seeker logged a 2-4 performance. He continued his phenomenal week with a 3-5, three RBI game July 27 in a 13-7 win over the Navigators, and another 3-5 performance July 28 at Mystic, scoring three runs. He finished the season strong during a doubleheader against Ocean State, with a home run in each game. Seeker collected two RBI in game one and drove in three runs with a 2-2 outing in game two.

Seeker finishes his 2023 NECBL regular season with a .336 average with seven home runs and thirty-four RBI.

In his 2023 season at Mount St. Mary's, Seeker hit .343 in 52 games, smacking 14 home runs, driving in 40 runs, and scoring 41 runs. He was named to the First Team All-MAAC as a DH, as well as named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Regional Team for the East Second Team.

Tobin had a great week for the SteepleCats, appearing in two games, starting one. He pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing five hits, two walks, and struck out six batters. He started his week with a relief appearance July 24 against the Sharks, pitching an inning and only allowing one hit. His start came on July 27 against the Blues, going seven shutout innings, allowing four hits, and striking out five in a 9-0 win.

Tobin made seventeen appearances for UPenn in his sophomore season, pitching to a 1-0 record, and striking out 24 in 22 innings.
