The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce that Storm defensive back Kevin Adams has been signed by the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League (AFL).

Adams joined the Storm after the 10th game of the 2006 season. Kevin was finishing up his schooling at Minnesota State - Mankato and then joined the Storm team in June, helping the Storm to the perfect season. He compiled 6.5 tackles for the Storm in the 2006 season. During his senior season at Minnesota State-Mankato in 2005, Adams was named to the CollegeSportsReport.com All-America Second Team as well as picking up All-North Central Conference (NCC) First Team and D2football.com All-Northwest Region honorable mention accolades. Adams finished 2005 by ranking 13th in the NCC in tackles with 67 stops along with tying for eighth in the NCC with an MSU-best three interceptions. In 2004, Adams was an All-NCC honorable mention pick.

The AFL is considered the premier arena league in the country and is a stepping-stone to the NFL and a stepping-stone for Storm players. The AFL has been in existence for 21 years and currently has 19 franchises.

Storm President Colin Steen says, "Kevin joined our team late in the 2006 season, but made an immediate impact and gave us even more depth in our defensive secondary. He is a young and talented man and we wish him all the best with the Utah Blaze. With the second player from our 2006 Championship Team moving on to a higher level, this will only help us in our recruiting efforts when players see we have guys moving up."
