
Second Half Propels Mill Rats to Important Road Win

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats, presented by Rogers, posted a strong second half, scoring 82 points, en route to an important 143-113 road win over the Montreal Jazz.
The Jazz played Saint John shot for shot and basket for basket in the first half as the teams went into the intermission tied at 61.
But the Mill Rats wasted no time jumping on the Jazz out of the break. A 14-4 run gave Saint John a 75-65 lead and they never looked back.
Kenny Jones dropped 34 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, Antonio Burks had 19 points on 5-7 from three, and Melvin Council scored 18 going 3-3 from behind the arc. Other Mill Rats in double figures included Montrealer Sheray Thomas with 14, Steve Deluca 12, and Cavell Johnson and Mike Anderson with 10 each. Jerice Crouch handed out 11 assists.
Farnold Degand scored 27 points for the Jazz and Courtland Bluford 18.
Saint John improves to 19-19 on the season and keeps their playoff hopes alive. Their next game is a Western road swing to Oshawa on March 13th and at the Windsor Express on March 15th.
