SPHL SPHL

Second Episode of SPHL Weekly this Wednesday

October 10, 2011 - SPHL (SPHL) News Release

CHARLOTTE, NC - After a successful first show, SPHL Weekly returns this Wednesday night at 8 PM EDT/7 PM CDT for a second broadcast. SPHL Vice President Doug Price will be featured on the 90-minute program as will three head coaches in the league: Kevin Kaminski of the Louisiana IceGators, the Pensacola Ice Flyers' Todd Gordon, and the Huntsville Havoc's Randy Murphy.

"I would like to thank all the fans and officials in the league for their overwhelmingly positive feedback on last week's show," said SPHL Weekly host Dana Barker. "We hope to bring another great show to the fans and the league this week with Doug Price and three well-known head coaches. If I had to make a common thread this week among the coaches, I'd say all three went through their share of adversity with their teams last season, making them all hungry to raise the President's Cup this season. You need only look at each coach's resume to see all three are well-qualified to lead their teams to the promised land."

This Wednesday's edition of SPHL Weekly will also preview the league's exhibition schedule as eight of the nine teams in the league are slated for preseason action this weekend.

Next Wednesday, October 19, will be the third and final 90-minute preseason edition of SPHL Weekly. A special SPHL Weekly Faceoff Edition will also air on Thursday, October 20, live from the James Brown Arena in Augusta, where the hometown Augusta RiverHawks will face the Mississippi Surge in the first regular season game in the SPHL, a rematch of last season's President's Cup Finals.

"I'm excited to help the SPHL kick off their season in Augusta next week," said Barker. "We have some great programming in the works with special guests and a couple of other surprises. I think it will help make for a great opening to this season's action on the ice."

Fans are encouraged to follow SPHL Weekly via social media, either on the program's Facebook page or by following @SPHLWeekly on Twitter. Suggestions or comments on the SPHL Weekly programming can also be sent by e-mail to sphlweekly@yahoo.com.
