See, Rojas, Villa and Lopez battle the Sounders!

Club America, from Mexico's Premier Division, visits Seattle for the first time in their 90-year history to kickoff their nine match U.S. pre-season tour against the Sounders. As one of Mexico's most successful and popular teams, having one their league championship a record setting 10 times, Club America features some of the top talent in Latin America with current and former national team members from Mexico, Argentina and Chile. Club America's star striker Claudio Lopez meets a Sounder defense that has allowed just four goals in the last five matches. The first 5,000 fans at the Club America match receive tickets to the Sounders July 15th regular season match up against the Montreal Impact.

Sounders Getting Healthy

Only Galindo and Scott Out With Injuries

The Sounders have struggled with injuries all season, but things are beginning to come together as the injury list continues to shrink. Down to two players on the injured list, Forward Maykel Galindo and Defender Zach Scott remain out of service. Galindo suffered a fractured nose and orbital bone on May 7th in an exhibition match against Chivas USA of Major League Soccer, and could return to action as soon as late July. Scott is recovering from ankle surgery to remove scar tissue from the same ankle he had off season surgery on. He is projected to return late August.

Former Sounder Making Waves in MLS

Preston Burpo leads GK's in GAA

After nine seasons with the Seattle Sounders, Goalkeeper Preston Burpo is making a name for himself with Chivas USA of Major League Soccer. Burpo, last season?s Championship Match MVP and a second team all-league selection, was signed by Chivas USA in the off-season. After starting the season as a back up, Burpo made his first start on May 27th and has held the starting role ever since. With a record of 5-1-4, Burpo currently leads MLS with a goals against average of 0.70, allowing just seven goals at 10 matches and recording 34 saves. Burpo and Chivas USA travel to Houston to face former teammate Brian Ching on Saturday, July 8th. The match will be televised live on ESPN 2 at 2pm.

Sounders Battle Impact In Next USL Match Up

Saturday, July 15th at Qwest Field, 7pm

The Sounders return to USL First Division play next Saturday, July 15th when they host the Montreal Impact. With one of the top defenses in the league, the Impact have allowed only four goals in 11 matches this season. Last season the Sounders defeated the Impact in the post season to advance to the championship match, and ultimately taking the 2005 USL First Division title. The Sounders and Impact begin play at 7pm at Qwest Field.

1,000 Kids Helped Sounders to 2-1 Win At Kids Day!

Sounders battled PDL squad, Tacoma FC

The Sounders hosted the club's 4th Annual Kids Day at Qwest Field on July 6th, battling Tacoma FC to a 2-1 victory. The Sounders were cheered on by nearly 1,000 kids from youth clubs and organizations from as far away as Bellingham and Tacoma. Read more here.
