
Seattle Mountaineers Sign Kris Groce

The Seattle Mountaineers of the ABA announced today, they have signed standout point guard Kris Groce to a "letter of Intent". Kris, a West Richland, WA native comes to the Mountaineers with plenty of journeyman experience. Kris was the NWAAC East region Player of the Year at Columbia Basin Junior College, 21 points, 7 assists, which earned him a D-I scholarship at University of Hawaii, he later transferred to D-I Sacramento State,10 points,5 assists and ended his college playing career at Eastern Oregon University. Kris led Eastern to the NAIA National Tournament, averaging 15 points and 4 assists and was named to the 2008-2009 NAIA All American team Honorable Mention.
" Kris was a key recruit in preparation for our upcoming ABA season, we needed a take charge player that is athletic and has a high basketball IQ", commented Coach Sims.
The Mountaineers open the 2010-2011 season with a road trip to the Midwest taking on ABA Nationally ranked opponents Chicago Steam and Lake Michigan Admirals.
