Seattle Mountaineers News Release
The #7 ranked Mountaineers have been chosen by the ABA league office to represent the ABA in a series of games against the Beijing Aoshen Olympian professional team. The Mountaineers leave for Beijing March 18 to March 24." It is an honor out of 60 teams in the ABA to be selected, the trip will give our players international exposure and also an opportunity to maybe earn an overseas contract." Stated Coach Sims
The Mountaineers (9-1) has four players scoring in double figures led by Rashaad Powell 20.2pts, Tim Pierce 17.2pts, Marcus Bradford 15.4 pts, and Reggie Guyton 14.2 pts. Inside play is led by Rookie twin towers, Billy McNutt 6-9, Craig McGee 6-9 and veteran Jacob Manning 6-8.
This weekend, the San Francisco `Rumble' travel to Seattle for a pair of games, Saturday and Sunday at Green River Community College Gym, better known as "The Swamp". The Mountaineers have lost only one game at "The Swamp" in the last 2 years.
