Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release
Sean Melvin was honoured with a selection to the USL Team of the Week after Sunday's stellar performance against Timbers 2, the league announced on Tuesday.
The Victoria, BC native produced a five-save clean sheet against the Cascadia rivals, snuffing out threats from an experienced Portland side that included eight players from their first-team roster.
With Melvin shutting out T2, the young 'Caps won 1-0 on a late goal from Thomas Sanner, as WFC2 won their second consecutive derby match.
