La Crosse Night Train News Release

The La Crosse Night Train of the National Indoor Football League has re-signed veteran quarterback Sean Hoolihan to a contract this week. Hoolihan was originally slated to play for La Crosse earlier this season but was not able to due to personal reasons.

Hoolihan holds numerous single season passing records for the Peoria Pirates (AF2). In 2001, he threw for 2,706 yards, 47 touchdowns, and rushed for an additional 181 yards and nine scores. The Wadena, Minnesota, native also holds single game franchise records for yards (304) and TD’s (5 two times). He was selected to the IFL Pro Bowl in 2000 as a member of the Duluth Lumberjacks and led the Franken Knights to a 15-1 record and a league championship in Germany in 1999.

While at UW-Eau Claire, Hoolihan led his squad to the Division III Final Four in 1998 and a 10-3 overall record. He threw for 2,629 yards, 18 TD’s and rushed for an additional 623 yards and five TD’s his senior season.

La Crosse also signed Eddie McKinnie (WR/KR) from UW-Whitewater, Randy Smith (CB) from Youngstown State, and Lorenzo Guess (S) from Michigan State University.

McKinnie spent part of the 2003 season with the Peoria Pirates and played for the Madison Mad Dogs (IFL) in 1998. Smith played for the IFL-champion Green Bay Bombers from 1998-2000. Guess was a member of both the basketball and football teams while at MSU.

In order to make room for the new players, the Night Train placed Darrick Bolton and Dupree Bee on injured reserve and released Ken Smith (CB).

La Crosse will take on the Show Me Believers Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in St. Charles, Missouri.
