Florida Seals News Release
[FLORENCE, S.C.]- The Florida Seals players must enjoy giving Head Coach Tommy Stewart high blood pressure. For the third time in four games Florida won a game in an extra session, this time 3-2 over Pee Dee.
The Seals came out flat and played well enough to only be down by a goal after one period of play. Florida showed life with 20-seconds to go in the second period Justin Keller rebounded a Ryan Rivard shot and lit the lamp for the 19th time this season.
After the intermission Florida came out flying to open the third. Craig Miller in his first game back from injury put a rebound back for his 16th tally of the season.
Pee Dee fought back late in the third period when Jeremy Kyte stole the puck inside the Seals zone and tied it up sending the game to overtime.
The Seals made short work of the extra session. Rob Sich took the puck away from the Cyclones Edan Welch, knocked Welch to the ice and scored a breakaway goal for the winner. It was the second time in a week the rookie scored a game-winning goal.
The Seals will board the bus and look to win their fifth straight road game Friday night in Fayetteville. The puck drops at 7:30 pm from the Crown Center. The game can be heard on SportsRadio 1080 starting at 7:15 pm with the pre-game show.
