Seals Sign Pair of First-Rounders

The San Diego Seals announced today that the team has agreed to terms with 2020 first-round draftees Tre Leclaire and Mac O'Keefe. Both deals are two-year contracts with the Seals.

"Tre and Mac are our first-round picks from the 2020 draft so this has been a long time coming," said General Manager and Head Coach Patrick Merrill. "They both had very successful college careers and we're glad they were able to finish out their senior seasons. We feel that that they are two offensive pieces that can jump right into our lineup. They have the skillset, ability and maturity to help our team win right away. I know they're both very excited about playing here in San Diego and we're looking forward to seeing what they can do."

Leclaire was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft. The right-handed forward played college lacrosse at Ohio State University where he was the school's all-time leading goal scorer (159 goals). His 204 career points (159G, 45A) are fourth -most in program history. Leclaire played junior lacrosse in the British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League where he was the league's rookie of the year (2015).

O'Keefe was selected 15th overall by the Seals in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft. The lefty played college lacrosse at Penn State University where he graduated as the NCAA Division I all-time leading goal scorer with a record 221 goals. He was a two-time USILA All-American, two-time Tweaaraton Tewaaraton nNominee, a three-time All-Big Ten honoree and was voted the 2019 Big Ten Tournament MVP. O'Keefe played junior lacrosse under Seals oOffensive cCoordinator Josh Sanderson for the Orangeville Northmen.
