Florida Seals News Release
In a proud moment for both organizations the Florida Seals Hockey Team selected the Osceola Council on Aging as the official charity organization for the 2006-07 season.
"This is a fantastic organization and we're proud to name the Osceola Council on Aging as our charity for this season," stated an excited Bryan Elliott, General Manager of the Florida Seals. "The Council represents the kind of community that we want to be a part of, taking care of your neighbors and supporting the needs of our elderly and disadvantaged residents. This is an organization that we want to associate the Florida Seals with," he continued.
With 28 home games, the Council on Aging will have a booth at the arena to share information about the Council on Aging's services to thousands of Seals fans as they enter and leave the arena. The Council is assembling their Seals Volunteer Team to attend each game representing the organization.
"This is exciting and groundbreaking for us," reported Beverly Hougland, CEO of the Osceola Council on Aging. "Our organization has become so intergenerational, that this partnership is a great opportunity to get the word out to the community about the Council programs," she reported.
Heritage Park, home of the Seals Den, hosts the home games of the Seals as they enter their second season in the SPHL. The Council will also be an outlet for ticket voucher sales. For those Seals fans interested in purchasing tickets while making a donation to the Council on Aging, please contact Rob Dent at 407-846-8541.
The Florida Seals are currently in preparation for the 2006-2007 SPHL season. The Seals return to the Silver Spurs Arena is only days away. Florida Seals will begin their season at home on October 27th vs. Huntsville at 7:35pm. Season ticket packages and corporate sponsorship opportunities are currently available.
