Seals lose Casey Handrahan to ECHL

[KISSIMMEE, Fla.]-The Florida Seals received a bit of tough news on the day they return home. Defenseman Casey Handrahan has been recalled and agreed to go to the Augusta Lynx in the ECHL.

Handrahan has been one of the best defenseman the Seals had this season. The Niagara Falls, Ont. native anchored the Seals blue line on full strength, penalty kills and power plays.

"It is great for Casey to get the chance to play at the next level." said Head Coach Tommy Stewart, "Of course it is tough for the Seals to lose such a great player, but I wish him the best luck with the Lynx."

Handrahan is in his second season of professional hockey. This season he played in 36 games scoring 21 points (4G, 17A) and had a +18 rating.

The Seals return to the Silver Spurs Arena for the first time in six weeks, Friday night against Huntsville. The puck drops at 7:35pm with the first 1,000 fans through the door receiving a "Seals #1 Foam Finger" courtesy of Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. Saturday night the Columbus Cottonmouth will be in Kissimmee. All groups buying tickets for the Mar. 4 will have a portion of the proceeds donated to the charity of their choice on "Pack the House for Charity Night." Also, the Seals organization is guaranteeing a win against Columbus. If the Seals lose to the Cottonmouths all fans in attendance will receive free tickets to the Mar. 14 game against Fayetteville.
