Seals hire new GM

September 1, 2006 - SPHL (SPHL)
Florida Seals News Release

Team President, Michale Watson announced today that Bryan Elliott has been hired to the position of General Manager. Elliott will now oversee all operations of the organization.

Elliott, 47, has spent the last two seasons as the V.P. of Operations and the Assistant Coach for the Corpus Christi Rayz of the Central Hockey League. Elliott has held numerous positions with teams on the Canadian University, Major Junior and Professional levels.

Elliott's career background, while loaded with hockey experience, is not limited entirely to sports. In 2002 the Port Colborne, Ontario native retired from the Canadian Navy after 23 years of distinguished service. During his service Elliott served as a Resource Management Supervisor which dealt with military financial and administrative issues. Elliott served with both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force at their NATO Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany. Upon retirement from the military, he served as the Director of Tourism & Special Events for the City of Welland, Ontario and owned/operated A&I Management, a marketing firm specializing in sporting events and large community festivals.

Elliott said he is excited about this opportunity. "I'm extremely thankful to Bill Lucia (Seals Owner) and the team President, Michale Watson, for trusting me with this opportunity," Elliott said. "Having a chance to work in a place as wonderful as the Orlando/Kissimmee area and being with my old friend Coach Tommy Stewart is a dream come true."
