Seals fill camp roster

[KISSIMMEE, Fla.] -The Florida Seals have finalized their 2005 training camp roster. Head Coach Tommy Stewart has extended invitations to six more players for a total of 23. The Seals will have three goalies, 13 forwards and seven defensemen.

Rounding out the roster will be forwards Jason Dopaco, Charles Froment, Justin Kaput; defensemen Johan Lundskog and Billy Rochefort and goaltender Jake Pruss.

Dopaco spent the 2002-03 season in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League with Oakville and Streetsville. The 5'10", 175-pound forward scored 31 points in 41 games.

Froment comes to the Seals after a successful year with the Morrisburg Lions in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League. The Joliette, Ont. native led the St. Lawrence Division in scoring with 43 points in only 26 games.

Joining the forwards is right wing Justin Kaput. This will be the second time Kaput is in the Seals training camp. He originally came to Central Florida during the Seals inaugural season in 2003.

Adding European flavor to the Seals roster is Johan Lundskog. The 21year old Swede, will attempt to add depth to an already skilled blue line.

A familiar name to Seals fans is Billy Rochefort. The former Jacksonville Barracuda and Winston-Salem Polar Twin was drafted by Stewart in this year's expansion draft. The 6'3", 218-pounder split time between the SPHL and the United Hockey League last season scoring 13 points and amassing 42 points in 52 games played.

Pruss is the third goalie invited to Seals training camp. He will battle with Terry Denike and Morgan Smietana for the two goaltender roster spots. The Michigan native comes to the Seals after a successful collegiate career for Eastern Michigan University. Last season he played in 35 games finishing with a 14-8-3 record, 3.55 goals against average and a .909save percentage.

Get ready for the home opener Saturday, October 29 at the Silver Spurs Arena. The puck will drop for the first ever hockey game in the arena at 7:35 pm versus the Jacksonville Barracudas. Magnet schedules and Cheerstix will be given out to the first 3,000 fans. In addition, enjoy the Zooperstars performances throughout the game and 1980 USA Olympic Hockey Captain Mike Eruzione.
