Florida Seals News Release
It'll be lightsâcamerasâSeals at Cinemark Theater on Friday February 13th.
The Orlando Seals hockey team will visit the Cinemark Theater at Festival Bay, 5150 International Drive, Friday night at 6:30. They will be in the theater lobby signing autographs and posing for pictures prior to the showing of the movie Miracle (showtime 7:45 p.m).
The movie chronicles the United States Olympic team's improbable gold medal victory in the 1980 Winter Olympic games. Kurt Russell has drawn rave reviews for his portrayal of coach Herb Brooks. The Seals mascot, Sealvester was on hand at Cinemark for the movie's public opening. The movie loving mammal gives Miracle two flippers up.
Another pivotal figure in the movie is assistant coach Craig Patrick, who later became general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and was in that role while Seals' coach Jim Paek played for the Penguins on their 1991 and 1992 Stanley Cup teams.
"We've all heard great things about the movie, and all the guys are looking forward to seeing it," Paek said.
There will be prizes given out prior to the start of the movie.
The Seals host the Miami manatees February 10th and the Jacksonville Barracudas on February 12th, with both games at TD Waterhouse Centre starting at 7:05 p.m.
All Seals games are broadcast via the internet at www.IRN.FM. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, and online at www.ticketmaster.com. For more information call the Seals at (407) 447-PUCK (7825).
