Seattle Sea Dragons News Release

The Seattle Sea Dragons journeyed to Arlington,Texas for their second consecutive road game to take on the Arlington Renegades for their Week 7 matchup who are currently in second place of the XFL South Division. The Sea Dragons received the opening kickoff where the drive resulted in a 44-yard field goal by K Dominik Eberle to give Seattle an early 3-0 lead. Shortly after, K Taylor Russolino exchanged a 36-yard field goal to even the score at 3-3, capping off a 14-play, 56-yard drive.

Transitioning into the second quarter, Eberle continued his hot streak of 11 straight field goals made on the season when he tacked on another 36-yard field goal to give the Sea Dragons a 6-3 lead. On the next offensive possession for the Renegades, QB Drew Plitt threw an interception to CB Qwynnterrio Cole, his first INT of the season. Soon after, the Sea Dragons capitalized off the turnover after WR Jordan Veasy caught his longest reception of the season (47-yards) to set up a 2-yard touchdown run for RB Darius Bradwell. Bradwell punched in the 1-point conversion attempt (Sea Dragons first successful 1-point conversion of the season) on the next play to expand the lead to 13-3. The Renegades answered on their next series when RB De'Veon Smith rushed up the middle for a 1-yard touchdown run, trimming the lead to 13-9 following the failed 1-point conversion attempt. Just before the break, QB Ben DiNucci connected with WR Josh Gordon for the fourth time this season on a 24-yard touchdown pass, widening the score to 21-9 after the successful 2-point conversion to WR Juwan Green.

Heading into the second half, the Sea Dragons defense forced their second turnover of the game after the Renegades turned the ball over on downs inside Seattle's 11-yard line. The Sea Dragons offense looked to put the game away early, but Will Hill from the Renegades defense stepped up and picked off DiNucci in the end zone, forcing their first turnover of the game.

In the final quarter, the Sea Dragons offense ate up most of the clock which resulted in Eberle converting his third field goal of the game from 48-yards to cap off the 12 play, 7:00 drive and to increase the lead to 24-9. The Renegades looked to make a late comeback after Smith scored his second rushing touchdown of the game, cutting the lead to 24-15 following the unsuccessful 2-point conversion. On the final offensive series for the Sea Dragons, the offense was able to run the clock out, sealing the fifth victory in a row for Seattle.

The Seattle Sea Dragons will head back home to Lumen Field next Sunday, April 9 to take on the undefeated D.C. Defenders.
