
Sea Dogs win draft lottery

MONTREAL, Thursday, April 5, 2007 - The Saint John Sea Dogs will have the first overall pick in the QMJHL Entry Draft for a third consecutive year. The Verdun Jr. Canadiens of the late eighties are the only other team in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League history to pick first overall three years in a row.
The Sea Dogs won the draw this morning at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Montreal. Saint John picked Yann Sauvé last season while Alex Grant was the frachise's first ever selection two years ago.
The Voltigeurs will pick second as they acquired Rimouski's first round selection via a trade at last year's Entry Draft in PEI.
The 2007 QMJHL Entry Draft will be held at the Marcel-Dionne Centre in Drummondville on Saturday, June 2.
