SD Loyal Welcomes Forward Niki Jackson

San Diego, CA - San Diego Loyal SC (SD Loyal) announced today the acquisition of forward Niki Jackson, pending league and federation approval. SD Loyal will begin its second USL Championship season in May 2021.
"Niki is a proven goal scorer and has the ability to be one of the best attacking players in the league," said Landon Donovan, EVP of Soccer Operations and Manager. "He is also a tremendous young man who is extremely motivated to prove himself. We are excited to bring him to our club!"
Jackson, 25, was selected 73rd overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by Colorado Rapids. He scored his first career goal during his MLS debut in a 2018 match against New England Revolution. Following, he was loaned to United Soccer League side Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and most recently in 2019 with Charlotte Independence scoring five goals. Prior to getting drafted, Jackson played at Grand Canyon University where he scored 41 goals over his collegiate career and was named WAC Offensive Player of the Year.
